Banks going beyond financial services

We all know banks bundle up financial services to offer us a whole package. Financial services that go hand in hand with banking are:

  • Insurance
  • Bill Payments
  • Depository Services
  • Mutual Funds

However to become a one stop stop for more and more of needs here are what banks offering

HDFC Bank offer you chance to wash away your sins but making online donations. They have a total of 32 religious organisation one can make a donation to including a masjid and a gurudwara! What more the Gayatri mantra comes into action when you click on the link.

HSBC NRI Services has HealthWatch – A solution for the NRI’s to monitor their parents’ health through checkup and access to reports.

While HSBC UK gives you passport services , which includes relocation help, a western union credit card (where you earn points when you send money home) and even a UK mobile SIM card!

Many banks offer concierge services to HNI customers. Wanna send flowers to your wife, book a holiday or a tee time for a round of golf – call your friendly neigbourhood banker

    You are right in saying that the extra services or concierge services are provided to the HNI Customers or Priority Clients. Most of these services are not even known by a normal customer.
    However i always thought Banks should tieup with Schools and educational institutions so that the Tution fees could be paid online. This is a more generallized service which many more people can take advantage of.

  3. Funny you should mention tuition fees… Axis Bank in Thane accepts tution fees for Singhania School. The system is supposed to go online soon…so I guess we are getting there
